Lies!

Won't happen... the bad PR would be ... er... bad.

Love this from the IGN article...

I can tell you first hand that the last mission in Sorrow's Furnace is one mean bastard. Even with the group of developers, the number of deaths by the completion of the mission was rather high. Every one of us was suffering from serious Death Penalty woes (I was up to -60% much of the time) but even so we were able to fight our way through scores of Stone Summit dwarves, ettin slaves, and huge furnace guardians that packed one hell of a whallop. All of this to get to a boss battle with a gigantic mechanical Golem so difficult that it was hard not to weep with laughter as the slaughter began. He has so many nasty tricks it's hard not enjoy the punishment. After the battle seemed to be won, it became clear that it barely even started as some of the most powerful and nastiest creatures in Guild Wars flew in to continue the beating.

There will be no soloing of the Furnace.

One of the theories is that it will be accesible from Droknar's, the Southern Shiverpeak town. However, the other theory is that it will be accessible from Lormar's Pass, which is in Northern Shiverpeaks.

Either way, I predict a good week for Lormar runners

You KNOW people are going to try anyway, somebody may even succeed. And heck, what an accomplishment if they could pull it off. Of course if they could, I would SO keep it to myself. The last thing we need is every Joe Noob copying the build and trying to solo the Furnace themselves, which would lead to an inevitable NERF.

Personally, I'm hoping that all the extra time taken to get the update out was spent balancing the area. I'm hoping they tested every possible solo build they could think of and scaled the zone so that it's impossible to do.

I thought I saw, but now i cant find the info again, info that stated that it was north of Camp Rankor on the eastern along the mountain slope..
However, if it is in the long passage from Beacons to Rankor. THat is a lot of area to explore.

I saw a possible entrance to SF. Nears Tascas Demise, which is near Granite Citadel, I saw a really large entrance accomapnied by some strange items nearby. THere is a gateway there according to some, and they can not get in YET.

are you talking about the mineral springs/tasca's demise gate or another gate?

Its not a gate. Its more like a structure leading down deep somewhere. Go look for it.

Its a gate about due north east out of Granite Citadel, past the Stone Summit minor mining operation in that area. The gate cant be opened. I also found this odd, but there are many areas in this game that cant be reached but are clearly visible as being structured and sound. Abd as for what Zaftkirayamato is talking about, that area is just like any other little mine of theirs.

Completely show, nothing else. You have just as much hope of the entrance being there as you would it being in Iron Horse Mine.

I know the structure you speak of. It is patrolled by numerous mobs of stone summit. A few interlocking bridges that slowly descend over a man made pit ... I know where your talking about. There is also another structure like this in the frozen forest.

Hmm...it might make sense if there were multiple entrances; multiple ways to get into SF

If you go south from Beacons just before you get to the first gate to the east there is an entrance area as well.

bingo ... I mean if it is suppposedly the heart of the Stone Summit ... they would likely like to travel all over the mountains and not just from 1 linear path. Otherwise the Deldrimore are idiots for not ganking this 1 linear path long ago. I'm sure Anet has had all the criticism they can take atm about how linear the PvE side was so I bet they have taken that and improved on the way they are building these areas. All ratings are looking good so far. Multiple entrances/exit for the industry to thrive ... wow ... an inside look at the Stone Summit's operations ... very exciting to me. Either way ... only time will tell (as I watch the seconds here at work)
